The Brief
Hippeas are on a mission to shake things up, changing snacking for the better one chickpea at a time. They’re the environmentally conscious and healthy snack brand that use plant-based goodness across their range of crisps. Being a fast-growing business, Hippeas wanted to take their online presence that extra step further by having their website redesigned by Charle. We were tasked with creating a warm and colourful online Shopify experience which encapsulated the brand’s core beliefs and values, while also ensuring that it is optimised within the Shopify platform to maximise revenue and engagement. We designed, developed and launched a bespoke Shopify theme.

Bespoke Shopify Theme Design and Development
Before developing the store, we conducted an in-depth discovery of Hippeas to fully understand their brand identity and long-term commercial goals to ensure we're delivering a future-proof and strategic Shopify store. Our themes are built bespoke for our merchants, no templates or generic layouts were used in the design process, meaning that we could craft a user experience that was truly unique. Following the extensive design phase, our development team brought the store to life using various Shopify development practices. We consider performance and content management at the very core of our builds; we build our stores in line with Shopify's native functionality, meaning that we can leverage the very best of what Shopify and Shopify Plus have to offer.

Subscriptions and Improving Average Order Value
Offering a 'subscribe and save' option on product pages using Shopify and ReCharge is a great way to incentivise repeat purchases, maximising recurring revenue for the seller and bringing discount and convenience to the buyer. We integrated this option into Hippeas' online store via a simple button in the add-to-basket process to help the brand build customer loyalty and lifetime value of customers as a result. Subscriptions are also a great way to improve lifetime value (LTV). In addition to this, a key focus was maximising average order value and promoting customers to spend more. To achieve this, we designed and implemented a progress bar onto the next stage of the checkout process to offer free delivery for customers who spend over a certain threshold. We also created a cart that allows customers to add products in realtime without refreshing the page or leaving the position they're currently at. We found this improved engagement and reduced the number of clicks for customers when purchasing Hippeas products.
Shopify Content Management Without Developers
We built the store utilising Shopfiy's native content management. This bespoke theme gave the Hippeas' team ultimate control over editing their store to make changes such as updating imagery, texts, pages, products and blogs. Our Shopify theme makes the process quick and simple for even those with minimal knowledge of web design and development. This future-proofs the online store meaning that limited or no specialists are required to make simple content tweaks. We thrive in giving our merchants ultimate control and use our expertise to focus on new features and performance improvements.
